Tiziano Giovannetti’s Interview for eKapija portal
Cooperation between the state and the investor is crucial for exploiting the full potential of wind power
The company MK Fintel Wind held the ceremonial opening of the wind farm in Kulain the middle of November. Tiziano Giovannetti, Executive Director of Fintel Energia Spa and MK Fintel Wind, said in an interview for eKapija that 15m EUR were invested in the construction of the first wind farm in Serbia and that the three wind generators of the world's largest producer Vestas from Denmark will produce about 27 million kWh of green energy.
- That is enough for the needs of nearly eight thousand households. In addition to the significance of the wind power system for the energy system, with this project, we have enabled the conditions for opening about 50 new jobs in Serbia - said Giovannetti and announced further investments in wind energy in Serbia.
eKapija: How long did the entire process last from the decision to build a wind farm in Kula through determining the location until the opening of the wind farm?
- In 2007, MK Fintel Windstarted the development of projects together with other investors gathered in Serbian Wind Energy Association. We needed six years to collect all the documentation, permits, to build and open the first wind farm in Kula.
eKapija: How many companies from Serbia were hired for the construction of the wind farm in Kula?
- In addition to hiring only local population at positions for maintenance of wind farms, in the preparatory works on the construction of wind farm Kula, we used concrete and steel from Serbia and hired domestic companies and design companies. This and similar investments planned in the future, will contribute to the reduction of unemployment, since we will again hire only Serbian workers in the future.
