Second wind farm opened in Serbia

The wind park La Piccolina was put into operation on Mondayin Zagajica, near Vršac. MK Fintel Wind invested 10 million euros.

The joint company of the businessmanMiodragKostić and Italian company - MK Fintel Wind, has officially put into operation the wind park La Piccolina in Zagajica near Vršac on Monday. The plant has installed power of 6.6 megawatts and more than 10 million Euros have been invested in its construction. The total expected annual production is around 20 gigawatt-hours. This is enough energy for about 5,500 households.

The Minister of Energy Aleksandar Antić said at the opening that this is an extremely important day for Serbian energy sector.

- In the past few years we have built a number of energy facilities from renewable energy sources and with this plant, we are approaching the power of 80 megawatts - said Antić.

Executive Director of Fintel Energy Spa and MK Fintel Wind Tiziano Giovannetti said that the company has started the first measurements in 2009 and today it plans to build a large wind farm near Vršac, which will open new jobs at the local level at least in the next two years.
